It's eBay Time!

WGarth Callaghan

The event that we have been waiting for is . . well, passed, actually. It was a good time, more or less, and an experience that was worth experiencing. Now, it is time to make some money for Children, Incorporated.

Our PS3 is up for auction. You can see it here: The Auction

Please bid, but only if you will follow through!

8 AM

The store opened it's doors promptly at 8 AM, and we all shuffled in, tired and cold. I don't know if it was excitement, or just the warmth of the store, but it felt good regardless. Circuit City had a fair amount of games and accessories available, so I purchased an extra controller and one game. I am hoping that it will increase the value of the auction.

I will list the item on eBay later today, along with a link to the charity that will get the proceeds.

The line area is, at best, a disaster area. It doesn't help that it rained most of the day and everything that is on the ground is water logged. Most of the gamers are lethargic, trying to recover from the last few days. We're all sitting around, wondering how much a PS3 is selling for on eBay. The answer: $10,000? Although I did just see one auction that was that high, I certainly can't believe that someone would really pay that much for it.

Someone just drove past and slowed down enough to roll down his window and ask someone what he'd be willing to sell his PS3 for. He responded, "No less than $1500."

Is anyone actually in line to play a game?

Check In Time

6 AM

Two Circuit City employees have gathered us, and are doing a final check of the names on our list. I am handed my voucher (yeah #6!) and am guaranteed to get a PS3. The store instructs us that they will open at 8 AM for us to purchase our units, and that if they are not purchased by 10 AM, we forfeit our space in line.

Oddly enough, there were two people that were on the list that were not present to collect their vouchers. Could they really have left? Who wold have stood out since Wednesday afternoon to walk away from the line so close to the end?

Good Morning

WGarth Callaghan

I woke up around 5:35 this morning. It was a long, cold night. For all intents and purposes, I slept on a concrete slab in a sleeping bag. All things considered, it was not a bad night. A couple of the guys stayed awake and reported some strange happenings. There was a lover's quarrel in the parking lot around 2 AM, and more than one person tried to get into the line in the dark of the night.

I decided to pack up my things and get ready for the morning. Where is the venti gingerbread latte fairy when you really need her?

Night

WGarth Callaghan

It's almost 9:30, and there is not a heck of a lot to do. It's about 50 degrees and falling. Most of us are getting wrapped up for the night.

If I don't fall asleep soon, I'll take the time to write up a post.

Sleep well!!
