Check In Time

WGarth Callaghan

6 AM

Two Circuit City employees have gathered us, and are doing a final check of the names on our list. I am handed my voucher (yeah #6!) and am guaranteed to get a PS3. The store instructs us that they will open at 8 AM for us to purchase our units, and that if they are not purchased by 10 AM, we forfeit our space in line.

Oddly enough, there were two people that were on the list that were not present to collect their vouchers. Could they really have left? Who wold have stood out since Wednesday afternoon to walk away from the line so close to the end?

Good Morning

WGarth Callaghan

I woke up around 5:35 this morning. It was a long, cold night. For all intents and purposes, I slept on a concrete slab in a sleeping bag. All things considered, it was not a bad night. A couple of the guys stayed awake and reported some strange happenings. There was a lover's quarrel in the parking lot around 2 AM, and more than one person tried to get into the line in the dark of the night.

I decided to pack up my things and get ready for the morning. Where is the venti gingerbread latte fairy when you really need her?

Night

WGarth Callaghan

It's almost 9:30, and there is not a heck of a lot to do. It's about 50 degrees and falling. Most of us are getting wrapped up for the night.

If I don't fall asleep soon, I'll take the time to write up a post.

Sleep well!!

New Rumor/Information

WGarth Callaghan

The guys at the end of the line are a bit distressed at the moment. Rumor has it that the store will, in fact, have 25 units to sell, but they are planning on holding back 3 or 4 and they are not being sold. This is a 3rd party rumor, and I did not hear it directly. The reason given was that the store wanted to be able to accommodate return issues if any of the original units were defective.

Oddly enough, 19 out of the first 20 people in line are planning on eBaying their products.

We're still number 6 in line, so we'll be getting on, as long as we don't accidentally sleep in!

Evening

WGarth Callaghan

It is really cold now, and will continue to get colder. My laptop battery is out of power, and the nice people inside of Circuit City are letting me charge it inside. I am using someone else's PC to post temporarily.

If you have not seen our digg.com, please go there and 'digg' the story.

We've 'finalized' the list. According to the store personnel, we have 25 people in line and 25 units to purchase. There was one poor guy that came by earlier and put his name on the list. He has missed two role calls. We struck his name from the list. Too bad, but congrats to the 26th person in line who now will be able to get one.

I'll talk a little bit about Children's Inc on my next post. They are a great charity, worthy of a PS3!!

Dusk

WGarth Callaghan

It gets dark early now. That's something that I miss while I am working. The sun is setting and it is starting to cool down. Cold and wet, what a good combination for the long night ahead.

My wife was kind enough to bring us homemade cookies last night . . . Honey, are you reading this?

We're all settling in already, and many of the poeple in line have made plans to go to sleep around 8 PM. I really want to watch "The Office." I wonder if Circuit City will let me in to watch.
